My Story: From the Military to a Life with Dogs

Hi, I’m Rebecca, a professional dog trainer and lifelong animal lover.

Dogs have always been part of my world, but my journey into professional training truly began when I brought home Zac, the dog I had waited years for and the partner who ultimately led me into the world of dog training.

Before becoming a professional dog trainer in 2021, I served for 4 years as a Combat Physical Training Officer in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). That experience taught me the value of structure, discipline, clear communication, and purposeful leadership, principles that continue to shape the way I train today.

Since then, I’ve dedicated my work to helping dogs and their owners understand one another better. From everyday obedience to complex behavioral challenges and advanced off-leash training, my goal has always been to help people build a better life with their dogs.

My Training Approach

I believe successful dog training starts with two things: an owner who is willing to put in the work and a trainer who understands the dog in front of them. Training should never be about forcing a dog into a one size fits all method.
I believe in finding the right balance between rewarding desired behaviors and establishing clear, fair boundaries. I use a wide range of training methods and tools because I believe a good trainer should always remain open minded, adaptable, and creative. Over the years, I’ve learned that every dog has something new to teach me.
What works beautifully for one dog may not work for another.
I bring the knowledge and the tools, but the dog in front of me helps determine the approach.

Above all, my love for dogs is what drives everything I do. Training isn't about putting a tool on a dog and immediately correcting unwanted behavior. First, we build trust. Then, we teach the dog what is expected. Only after that do we begin building accountability through clear, fair communication.

I believe dogs thrive when they have clarity, consistency, and leadership they can trust. Good leadership isn't about control. It's about understanding, guidance, and building a relationship based on trust and mutual respect.

Because when communication becomes clear, everything changes.

My Professional Education & Experience

My professional education began in Israel, where I completed 3 dog training courses, focusing on basic obedience, behavioral challenges, and advanced off leash obedience.
Beyond my formal education, I trained extensively with my own Doberman, Zac, in wilderness search and rescue, specializing in locating missing people in wooded environments. We also volunteered our skills when needed.
After moving to the United States in 2024, I continued expanding my knowledge in scent work, search and rescue, and advanced obedience. I also took the initiative to learn directly from an experienced trainer in the competitive dog training world, gaining additional knowledge in advanced obedience, search work, and retrieving.
I believe that becoming a great dog trainer is a lifelong journey. There is always another skill to develop, another perspective to explore, and another dog ready to teach you something new.
The world of dogs is endless, and so is my commitment to learning.
